The underground hardcore scene of the mid-late Eighties was UK punk rock's last significant creative gasp. Die Cockney Rejects waren The Real Deal, wie man in Großbritannien zu sagen pflegt! Als Mitglieder der berühmt-berüchtigten Hooligan-Crew Inter City Firm

Jeff Turner ist in Custom House im Londoner East End aufgewachsen. Als Sohn eines Hafenarbeiters mit sieben Geschwistern in einer Dreizimmer-Sozialwohnung
hatte er wirklich keine leichte Kindheit. Er wollte sich alleine behaupten, ging deshalb in die Boxlehre und wurde ein ausgezeichneter Fighter, der insgesamt
31 von 39 Kämpfen gewinnen konnte.
Allerdings hat er sich seinen Namen über die Musik gemacht. Als die Sex Pistols mit »God Save The Queen« die Spitze der Charts erklommen, schnappte sich sein
Bruder Mickey eine Gitarre, er selbst das Mikro, und gemeinsam nahmen sie die Szene im Sturm. Mit ihrem aufmüpfigen Verhalten waren die Cockney Rejects der
einzig wahre Shit! Für regelmäßige Krawalle war also gesorgt. Immer wenn das ultrarechte British Movement bei einem ihrer Konzerte aufkreuzte, haben Jeff und
die Band persönlich diesen faulen Zahn an der Wurzel gepackt und gezogen.
Natürlich konnte dieser Wahnsinn nicht ewig weitergehen, so daß die Situation innerhalb der Band irgendwann genauso eskaliert ist, wie die Gewalt während ihrer Gigs.
